From Friday 25th until Sunday 27th September, Truro’s Lemon Quay will once again play host to the 12th annual Great Cornish Food Festival. This celebration of Cornish food and drink is the biggest event worldwide dedicated entirely to Cornwall’s produce, showcasing the finest that the county has to offer.
An exciting mix of demonstrations, masterclasses and produce to sample and buy, the Great Cornish Food Festival has something for everyone. Foodie’s will gravitate towards the Deck Stage where you can get hands-on with the cookery, learning tips and tricks from Cornwall’s culinary experts. Highlights include an Oyster Masterclass from the Duchy Oyster Farm, a Coffee Masterclass from Helston-based Origin Coffee, and a seafood session by Padstow Seafood School.
Cornwall based two Michelin starred chef Nathan Outlaw will host the Grand Finale at 3pm on Sunday 27th September, providing the culmination of three days of demonstrations on the Theatre Stage. A range of expert chefs and rising stars on the Cornish food scene will astound you with their mouth-watering concoctions, created before your eyes. There will also be competitions and contests aplenty with a Cornish Clotted Cream Bake Off and Cornish Cocktail Contest on Friday 25th, and a children’s Five-a-Day Challenge on Sunday 27th September.
If the cookery displays have left your stomach rumbling, the Great Cornish Food Festival’s range of Cornish producers will be offering hot food, from the iconic Cornish pasty to delicious local seafood and paella. There will also be over 60 exhibitors celebrating the explosion in Cornish food and drink in recent years, making this the perfect place to pick up some truly Cornish souvenirs or even some early Christmas gifts.
