A trip to St Ives is a must for every holiday to Cornwall, but this weekend there is another reason to visit this picturesque seaside town, The St Ives Food and Drink Festival.
A whole weekend dedicated to celebrating local Cornish produce, fresh recipe ideas, and cooking demonstrations from some of the county’s and, in some cases, the country’s finest chefs.
The festival, now in its sixth year, is held at the beautiful Porthminster Beach and is famed as a celebration of Cornish cuisine. Hosting a huge variety of artisan food and drink companies from all over Cornwall, this is your opportunity to discover Cornwall’s best kept culinary secrets, as well as meet the producers everyone knows and loves.
Locally brewed ciders, beers and wine will be available to sample; a range of chocolate, cheese and chutney to taste; plus fresh produce, ranging from meats to vegetables, to admire and inspire.
Cooking tips, recipe ideas, and demonstrations will be held across both days with visiting chefs including Rick Stein, Andy Appleton from Fifteen Cornwall, James Nathan from Retallack Resort & Spa, Arty Williams from The Cove and Todd Studley from the Driftwood Hotel being just a few of the must see Chefs over the weekend.
While you’re in St Ives, take some time to explore its award-winning beaches and hub of independent shops, cafés, and galleries.
With two full days of the finest food and drink Cornwall has to offer, we think the weekend has never looked so good.
