Messing About On The River…

There is a wonderful tradition of rowing regattas held throughout the summer on the Helford River.

Port Navas Regatta.

This year Port Navas celebrates it’s 100th year and the fancy dress theme for the day is “A 1914 Child”.  The Port Navas Regatta kicks off the series of regattas this year and will be held on Saturday 26th July.  Great fun and entertainment for all the family.

Helford Passage Regatta.

Saturday 2nd August is the date for the regatta at Helford Passage. A whole programe of races including the famous Land and Sea race, games and competitions for the children.  There are always boats to borrow, so everyone is welcome to join in and have a go.  BBQ available -or- visit the picturesque Ferry Boat Inn for lunch or dinner.   Ice creams, beach goods, clothing and gifts available at The Kiosk and The Shop @ The Beach, with live band entertainment well into the night.

Helford Village Regatta.

Saturday 23rd August is the date for this regatta.  Why not take the ferry from Helford Passage and enjoy this regatta, taking time for lunch at The Shipwrights Inn.

Durgan Regatta.

The final regatta of the summer is Durgan Regatta – Sunday 24th August.  Once again a full programme of races including Land and Sea with many boats available to borrow from the beach.   Games and competitions for the children with swimming races too.  BBQ.  Many stalls including Tombola, Fresh Produce, Cakes and Refreshments, and the hugely popular raffles and auctions, supported generously by local businesses.
