Alfresco Eating in Cornwall

Alfresco eating is the in thing at the moment – pop up outdoor restaurants, mobile food trucks and food fiestas are ten aplenty throughout the warmer months offering a wide variety of flavours and cuisines. From beach to field, town to festival there is alfresco food all across Cornwall. Here are a few of our suggestions to eat at!


Proper pancakes pop up – Truro Farmers Market

A delectable offering of fluffy American style pancakes and grilled cheese sandwiches now available at the Saturday Farmers Market in Truro City Centre.


Hidden Hut Feast Nights – Porthcurnick Beach

Tickets for these feasts are like gold dust and have been known to sell out in minutes of going online – if you aren’t lucky enough to get tickets they offer delicious lunches right on the edge of the beach.


Shellfish Pig – Mainly Falmouth based

A fantastic food truck that pops up in various places serving interesting street food such as pulled Pork in Cornish Rattler, Maple & Fennel Glaze with brioche rolls. Follow them on Facebook for the latest locations! Stay at Quay House in Constantine, Lorelei on the Helford or many of our houses in Constantine for nearby access to Falmouth.


Nancarrow Feasts – Near Truro

A very popular occasion at the beautiful Nancarrow Farm, their feast nights feature stunning ingredients cooked over fire and served on long tables in their barn. A wonderful experience.


Lost Stories of Heligan – Lost Gardens of Heligan

A new venture for the Lost Gardens of Heligan celebrating  stories of old about the gardens. Eat amongst the beautiful gardens and enjoy some wild food . The next feast is happening May 31st. Stay at The Colomiar in St Stephen in Brannell for nearby access to the gardens.


Wild Wine Club – Near Padstow

A five course feast served under the stars on a secluded beach sounds like a perfect dinner plan, Wild Wine Club offer unique alfresco eating experiences over Cornwall. Stay at Waggon House or Josiah’s Cottage nearby.

A cafe with a seriously beautiful view nestled in the heart of the Popular St Ives serving delicious tapas, fresh fish and local produce. Stay at Pencobben nearby.


Cracking Crab – Polzeath

A shellfish restaurant on the edge of beautiful Polzeath Beach serving local catches and the freshest seafood.
